Today’s win helped Chad gain some more confidence going into the Conference meet in two weeks. He really wants to win it after being nipped at the tape last year. We run next Saturday at West Milton in the Miami County Meet. September 22, 2007The bees traveled to the Versailles tour de sewer. Overall I was very pleased with the way the team ran and competed. Some of the boys were not pleased with their times because in the past Eaton has been a fast course. Keira did a great job of running with the front pack of girls today instead of having to catch them later. Brandon did a much better job of running closer to the front pack of runners and it paid off with a personal record on his part. This season has been a lot of fun since I have 9 guys fighting each week for a spot on the varsity team and this week a couple more showed signs of wanting to join the fight. She had a good group of division 1 girls to race with today. She has been running a little bit faster with each meet. She is running with more confidence with every meet. The girls should have a team next Saturday when we go to Tiffin Carnival. The junior high boys were led by only Zachary Danner in 35th in a time of 14:36. Chad ran very well today. He had the leader in site for the whole race; he was only 10 seconds of the pace. We are a young team with a lot of freshman and first time cross country runners. For their first meet this group of boys ran well and also left room for improvement.
For the girls Samantha Lang led the way with a 57th place finish in a time of 24:50. She was followed by Keira Corbett who finished in 123rd place in 30:10. Kristen Rickey finished in 125th in 30:20. Sarah VanNess finished in 128th in 30:47. Melissa Campbell finished in 136th in 35:29. The girls team only has 6 runners, so we have to be very careful to avoid injuries.
